GCC common monetary council expected

The GCC has said it is likely to set up a common monetary council in the Gulf by the end of this year.

The move will be a forerunner to a future GCC Central Bank and common currency, said GCC Secretariat official Dr. Nasser Al Kaud, reported Gulf News.

The link to the US dollar will also be reviewed at the same time, he added.
