Boediono named as running mate, set to resign

Reports emerged on Friday that Boediono, the governor of Bank Indonesia, was tendering his resignation after he was named as the president's choice for running mate.

Reuters, a news agency, quoted a senior official at the central bank as saying: "He has now submitted his resignation letter to other members of the board of governors."

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on Friday that he had picked Boediono, a well-respected bureaucrat, as his vice presidential candidate for the elections set
