
Czech banknote wins prize
The International Association of Currency Affairs, an industry body, has announced that the Czech National Bank (CNB) was the runner-up in its Banknote of the Year award for the 1000-krone banknote, issued in April this year.
Pavel Rezabek, a member of the central bank's board, said that the award was an acknowledgment of the quality of Czech banknotes as among the highest in the world, not only in terms of artwork but also in the technical level of protective elements applied.
