Zim's Gono: sanctions responsible for collapse

Gideon Gono, the governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, has said that sanctions are to blame for Zimbabwe's economic collapse and that printing more money was essential for his people's survival.

Gono told Newsweek, a magazine: "The west wants you to think that Zimbabwe's economic collapse was because of mismanagement. But sanctions have had quite a devastating effect on the country. I cannot think of any genocide that is worse than that."
