Race to head European Central Bank heats up

Christian Noyer has apparently intimated he is willing to take on the job of president of the European Central Bank when Wim Duisenberg retires in July.

The battle to head the European Central Bank is hotting up, according to Forbes, with the bank's former vice-president Christian Noyer throwing his hat into the ring as a potential successor to ECB president Wim Duisenberg when the Dutchman retires in July.
