Zimbabwe plans reforms to ease consumers' plight

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is to publish plans aimed at alleviating the impact of hyperinflation on consumers, Gideon Gono, the governor of the central bank, said on Thursday.

Gono said that the Reserve Bank would allow consumers to withdraw more cash from ATMs. The current limit is Z$500 billion, but the Reserve Bank is planning on allowing ATMs to cope with prices in the trillions. Z$500 billion is worth $26.76 officially but its actual value is though to be significantly lower.
