Belgium's Quaden says rates not hampering growth

The Belgian National Bank governor said in an interview that the European Central Bank's interest rates remain appropriate.

He said ECB rates do not present an impediment to euro zone economic growth.

"I do not meet any entrepreneur who says that rates are too high to invest," he said in an interview with L'Echo newspaper.

"The current level of rates is certainly not a brake on economic activity," said Quaden, who is a member of the rate-setting ECB governing council.
