China must develop bond market - PBOC official

China needs to foster more domestic consumption to drive the nation's economy, and also develop its bond market, an official with the People's Bank of China said.

"Investment has been the main driver of economic growth in China, but we can't fully rely on investment to drive GDP," the deputy director general of the research department for the People's Bank of China (PBOC), Zhang Tao, said at a construction summit in Beijing.
