Iceland considers joining euro
``This is something we are considering and will be under discussion in the years to come,'' Asgrimsson said in a telephone interview from Reykjavik with Bloomberg on Thursday 27 April. ``It's clear it's not easy to run a small economy and small currency in a big market.''
The krona has lost 15 percent of its value this year as hedge funds fled the country's markets on concern that its economy may be overheating.
