Xiaochuan expects less pressure on yuan move

China's central bank governor Zhou Xiaochuan said he expects less pressure for a yuan revaluation next year, as China will move to cut its trade surplus.

"The central government's economic work meeting has examined the issue of the trade surplus and has decided to take measures to reduce the trade surplus," the state-run China Securities Journal quoted Zhou as saying.

"If the trade surplus can be reduced, next year there will not be increased pressure to revalue the renminbi (yuan)."
