Eurozone growth stat charts biggest fall this year

A measure of the economic outlook in the euro area indicated on Thursday that growth in the region slowed sharply in November.

The EuroCOIN statistic, which the Bank of Italy and the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) describe as "a real-time monthly estimate of area-wide GDP growth" reporting quarter on quarter changes, showed euro area growth to have dipped for the fifth consecutive month in November from 0.64% to 0.59%. The 8% fall is the biggest since the start of the year.
