Korea's banknotes set for new look

Korea's banknotes are to get a radical overhaul to curb rising forgery. The Bank of Korea said Monday 14 February it plans to incorporate high-tech features in the new notes, including holograms.

The four historical figures currently pictured on the W500 coin and the W1000, W5000 and W10,000 notes are currently all male and from the Chosun Dynasty (1392-1910). They are King Sejong, who created the Hangul or Korean alphabet, confucian scholars Yi Yi and Yi Hwang, and Admiral Yi Sun-sin, who
