MINUTES - Minutes of the Bank of Japan's Monetary Policy Meeting on 13 and 14 February 2003, released 10 March. The Bank's policy board discussed possible policy-easing steps, including an increase in purchases of Japanese government bonds or more unorthodox measures. But a number of board members were wary of increasing JGB buying for fear that it may increase volatility of long-term interest rates.
