Study shows rising trend in Venezuela's reserves

The Venezuelan financial system has seen an important growth in its international foreign currency reserves, reaching more than 35 billion dollars at the end of September, according to a new study.

The study by specialized firm Aristimuo Herrera y Asociados showed the increase exceeded 18 percent in the first nine months of 2006, equivalent to 5.4 billion dollars, coming mainly from oil exports, which represent 90 percent of revenues received by the nation.
