Tanaka says next BOJ policy changes to take time

Japan's economy is running smoothly but it is not yet in an inflationary environment and further Bank of Japan monetary policy changes may take some time, Japan's senior vice finance minister said on Tuesday 14 March.

Speaking to Reuters on the sidelines of a conference in London, Kazunori Tanaka, who sat in as a government representative on the BOJ's Feb. 21 meeting when it raised rates by a quarter point, said the MOF and the central bank had no big difference in views.
