Almunia sees better eurozone growth by year end

European Union Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Joaquin Almunia spoke on Thursday 6 October of his confidence that the eurozone will return better growth figures by the end of the year, than had been recorded recently.

"There are good growth signals in the quarterly report and we have found signals that growth recovery is on its way," he said in Athens after a European Central Bank meeting.

Eurozone countries should make more effort to introduce structural reforms, he also said,
