Report - UK on track to pass euro convergence test

The economies of Britain and the euro-zone have converged since the new euro currency was launched four years ago - and there is no sign that this general trend will end, according to a study by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the accounting firm.

The study, which looks at a range of economic indicators including growth, inflation and interest rates, suggests that there is a much greater degree of convergence between the UK and Euroland economies now than in 1997 or 1998, according to John Hawksworth of
