PBOC's Zhou worried over China CPI trend

People's Bank of China governor Zhou Xiaochuan told reporters on Sunday 18 March he was not worried about the current level of inflation but was concerned with the inflation trend.

"We worry about the trend of inflation but not the current level of inflation," he told reporters at an Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) conference in Guatemala, speaking in English.

The annual rise in the consumer price index (CPI) accelerated to 2.7 percent in February from 2.2 percent in January.
