Poland's c bank under fire for strong zloty

POLAND - The central bank received more criticism yesterday when the Finance Minister Marek Belka said that it should take action to weaken the zloty.

"I would like to start the debate with the Monetary Policy Council (RPP) on the possible solutions here," he said.

The words were reinforced by Prime Minister Leszek Miller in speeches made at a private university and the Rzeczpospolita Eagles award ceremony. Analysts believe that Belka's verbal intervention sought to temporarily weaken the Polis
