PBOC says US pressure not a factor on yuan

A People's Bank of China official was quoted on Thursday 9 March as saying that pressure from the US is not a factor under consideration in determining the yuan's exchange rate.

According to AFX News, asked if the central bank was paying attention to pressure from the US administration to introduce more flexibility in its currency, Hu Pingxi, the governor of the PBoC's Shanghai branch, said: "This is not something we are considering."
