Goodhart: George should control inflation forecast

The governor of the Bank of England should take full control of the Inflation Report - the central bank's flagship economic forecast - to avoid confusion arising from the disparate input from the nine members of the Monetary Policy Committee, London School of Economics professor and former MPC member Charles Goodhart said Feb 1.

The Bank's quarterly inflation forecast is closely watched by many in financial markets and the government because it is supposed to give an indication of the future path
