Fitch says EU newcomers to adopt euro after 2010

Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary are unlikely to adopt the euro until after 2010, the Fitch credit rating agency has said.

Slovakia's SME daily newspaper reported Thursday central and Eastern Europe's three biggest countries would probably not meet convergence criteria laid down by the European Central Bank before that date.
