French PM concerned on dollar weakness

French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin voiced concern about the euro's surge to record highs against the dollar, but didn't comment on whether he thought the European Central Bank should intervene.

"A strong euro reduces the energy bill but it weighs on our exports and on the euro zone's economic growth," he told the Portuguese daily Publico.

"It is true that we in France, as in the rest of the euro zone nations, are not satisfied with the current situation," he added.
