Bush sends Fed nominees to Senate for confirmation

US - U.S. President George W. Bush on Thursday sent to the Senate for confirmation his two nominees to the Federal Reserve Board -- Donald Kohn and Ben Bernanke, reports Reuters.

The White House said Bush nominated Kohn, the Fed's top staff official and one of Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan's most trusted aides, for a 14-year term ending 31 Jan, 2016, and Bernanke, who chairs the Princeton University economics department, to serve out a term that expires on 31 Jan, 2004.
