ECB wants action on reform agenda - Trichet

European Central Bank president Jean-Claude Trichet on Monday 22 May called on the EU to implement its structural reform programme which has been revamped.

"We expect a lot from this relaunching of the Lisbon agenda," Trichet said at the OECD Forum.

"The next decisive step is now to accelerate the putting into practice of these plans," he said.

"The earlier this happens, the earlier economic activity, employment and innovation in Europe can be lifted to a higher level and standard," he said.
