US Treasury's O'Neill: US economy on recovery road

US - U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill said on Monday the economy is on a recovery path, albeit a rocky one, and the United States can bear the financial cost of whatever action it chooses to take against Iraq.

"The latest indicators look good. Interest rates at 40-year lows are providing a boost to both the auto market and housing," O'Neill, on a short swing through New England and New York this week to discuss President Bush's economic agenda, told the Portland, Maine, Chamber of Commerce.
