Greece to mint 2 euro coin to help fund Olympics

Bank of Greece governor Nicholas Garganas announced Monday that Greece will issue a commemorative 2 euro coin. Proceeds from the sale of coins will be used to help fund the 2004 Olympics which Greece will host.

Greece will issue a commemorative euro2 coin for the Athens Olympics and use proceeds to help fund 2004 projects, the country's central bank governor said Monday.

Nicholas Garganas said the coin will be issued on Jan. 1, 2004. He made the announcement after meeting
