Japan's Fukui: rough road until end of deflation

Bank of Japan Governor Toshihiko Fukui said on Thursday 11 March that he saw a "rough road ahead" until the end of deflation despite signs of recovery in the Japanese economy, repeating the BOJ's commitment to an easing policy.

The BOJ has said it will keep its current monetary easing framework in place until the year-on-year change in consumer prices stabilises at or above zero percent.

"The economy is improving but developments in prices are lagging behind those in the real economy," he said
