Park Seung says BOK needs more independence

Outgoing Bank of Korea governor Park Seung said Tuesday 21 March he central bank has gained a greater level of independence during his reign but more still needs to be done.

"I feel proud that the independence of Bank of Korea has been heightened to a global level," Park told reporters in his last news briefing to mark his scheduled departure at the end of the month.

Park did not want to comment on the candidates for his post but said that the new BOK governor needs to increase the independence of
