Mullei 'must vacate office' - attorney-general

Kenya's Attorney-General, Amos Wako, was quoted in a report by Kenyan Capital FM radio as saying that central bank governor Dr Andrew Mullei must vacate office pending the outcome of a case he is facing before the anti-corruption court for abuse of office.

"Under the Anti-Corruption Economic Crimes Act, its quite clear that a public official once he has been charged before the court he stands either suspended or interdicted pending the outcome of the criminal case," Wako said.
