Saudi Arabia may bid to host GCC central bank

Saudi Arabia may join Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates in a bid to host the GCC's future central bank, Gulf News reported Tuesday 31 October.

Saudi Arabia may also put forward its credentials to host the bank, the governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency told the daily. Qatar has submitted a request to host the 'monetary council', which is likely to act as a currency board.
