French audit office criticises central bank

The French financial press reported that France's audit office, Cour des Comptes, has submitted what it described as a very severe report on the way in which the Banque de France is managed.

In particular, the national auditing authority criticises the bank's lack of legal and financial transparency and urges it to continue its reforms with the help of the French state.

The report is due to be made public on March 30.
