€ EURO - Portugal to use big value notes

PORTUGAL - Portugal has changed its mind about not circulating the two highest denomination euro banknotes and now plans to distribute a small number of Euros 500 ( £310) and Euros 200 notes.

Vitor Constancio,governor of the Bank of Portugal, said the change in policy was designed to meet the needs of a small number of Portuguese who might require the big notes.

"We feel that any Portuguese citizen who might want the high denomination notes should be able to get them in Portugal and not have to go
