PBOC's Fan sees yuan fluctuating

Fan Gang, the only non-government representative on the monetary policy committee of the People's Bank of China, said Thursday 25 January has said the trend for the yuan will be to fluctuate, rather than rise constantly.

In a report on the official Shanghai Securities News, Fan added that the central bank will maintain its policy of gradually allowing the yuan's appreciation.

Fan said in the report that he does not view a central bank expansion of the yuan's trading band to be critical.
