Bernanke to testify on Fed policy mid Feb

Federal Reserve Chairman-nominee Ben Bernanke is likely to visit Capitol Hill in mid-February to deliver the Fed's semiannual monetary policy report.

The House Financial Services Committee announced on Tuesday it would hold a hearing on the report, formerly known as Humphrey-Hawkins, at 10 a.m. (1500 GMT) on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

A spokesman for the Senate Banking Committee said that panel would likely hold its hearing the following day.
