Canada's Macklem to move to finance ministry

Tiff Macklem, a deputy governor of the Bank of Canada, is to move to the Department of Finance on 1 November.

"Tiff will continue to contribute to public policy in his new role at the Department of Finance, and we wish him well," said David Dodge, the governor of the central bank.

Macklem is to take over from Mark Carney, the current senior associate deputy minister of finance, who will replace Dodge in February. The position is the third highest-ranking in the finance ministry.
