SADC meeting focuses on trade

Trade in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) will feature high on the agenda at the 14-member body's summit in Maseru, Lesotho.

"The next thing to happen [for SADC countries] is [to decide on] the free trade area between member states," Timothy Thahane, chairperson of the SADC Council of Ministers, said.

"This means that some work has to be done in regard to tariffs," said Thahane who is also Lesotho's minister of finance and economic planning.
