Committees of exchange rate targeting central banks meet most often

Inflation targeters have the average highest number of committee members

Central banks with exchange rate controls tend to set policy rate at higher frequencies than counterparts with other goals, the Monetary Policy Benchmarks 2025 reveal.

Benchmark participants have varied monetary policy goals, including exchange rate targeting (fixed and crawling pegs), inflation targets and “other” goals. The goals classified as “other” consist of currency boards, joint targets, money supply targets and price level targets.
