Monetary policy staff annual pay rises year on year

Divisional budget averages less than $10 million a year

Many monetary policy staff across central banks experienced a salary increase between 2024 and the current year, data from the Monetary Policy Benchmarks 2025 shows.

Full-time equivalent (FTE) employees’ salary averages $52,325 per year across 26 central banks that supplied data for the 2025 benchmark. This is around 11.8% higher than the $46,812 reported in the 2024 benchmark.

Staff salaries in 2025 range from $10,138 to $270,000 annually. The median value in the sample is $36,418 per year.
