EME fintech teams have wider mandates

Few chief fintech officers recruited by central banks

The majority of central banks have a dedicated fintech team, but those in emerging market economy (EME) nations are more likely to have responsibility for both internal and external policies.

All income levels have roughly the same proportion of central banks with specialised fintech teams. Over half (56%) of institutions in advanced economies have a dedicated fintech team, while 68% of institutions from emerging market jurisdictions have a unit.
