Céu Pereira

Céu Pereira is an economist and team leader for the digital euro in the directorate-general for financial stability, financial services and capital markets union at the European Commission. Previously, she was team leader for retail payments and led the development of the 2020 Commission’s ‘retail payments strategy’ for the EU and associated key initiatives, such as the PSD3 and PSR. She has many years of experience related to payments at the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the World Bank, and as financial attaché at the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the EU. She holds a master’s on European Integration from the College of Europe.
