BoE using LLM to review meeting minutes
Bailey says he has “mixed feelings” about use of AI in communications
The Bank of England has been using a large language model (LLM) to review the minutes of its monetary policy committee meetings before publication, governor Andrew Bailey said today (September 25).
Bailey told a conference in Oxford that when the BoE was “finishing the minutes”, staff put the text into an LLM as a way of assessing how they were likely to be received, and whether that matched the intentions of the MPC.
