Strait of Hormuz is top barometer of supply stress – BIS study

Impact of traffic disruption through other waterways neither as consistent nor as global

Compared with other global chokepoints, the Strait of Hormuz provides the clearest and most consistent signal of global supply stress and of the stagflationary mix of lower growth, higher prices and tighter financial conditions, a study from the Bank for International Settlements has found.
