Europe’s central banks face tough policy calls – Barclays CEO

Venkatakrishnan also spoke on UK political uncertainty, Brexit and banking regs

Central banks in Europe have more difficult monetary policy decisions to make than their counterpart in the US, the chief executive of Barclays has said. 

Speaking at the Bloomberg Global Markets and Banking Summit in London on May 20, CS Venkatakrishnan said: “I think they have a really tough job and I think, unfortunately, it’ll be one of those cases [where] we look back in a year and say, ‘Oh, they shouldn’t have done this, they should have done that’ or ‘They were wonderful to have done this’
