Powell: We do not see systemic risks from private credit

Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell has said he does not see a risk of contagion in private credit markets. 

In a wide-ranging lecture at Harvard University on March 30, Powell said that although the Fed was carefully monitoring the “correction” in the sector, it did not seem to have “the makings of a broader systemic event”. He added that the Fed was keeping a close watch on the industry, describing it as a “relatively small part of a very large asset pool”.
