ECB working to simplify banks’ annual health checks – Donnery

Srep will become more tailored to lenders, says supervisory board member

The European Central Bank is working on streamlining its banking supervision procedures, a member of its supervisory board has said.

In a blog post on September 8, Sharon Donnery outlined some of the changes to the ECB’s supervisory review and evaluation process (Srep). She also announced changes to the bank’s prudential policy-making “with the aim of further increasing efficiency, effectiveness and risk focus”.
