UK inflation still in double digits in March
Analysts think MPC likely to vote for at least one further rate increase
The UK’s inflation dipped only slightly in March, presenting a further challenge to the Bank of England’s monetary policy committee.
Figures published today (April 19) by the Office for National Statistics show headline consumer price index (CPI) inflation fell from 10.4% in February to 10.1% in March.
Fuel prices contributed the most downward pressure to the figure, with motor fuel prices falling 5.9% relative to a year earlier. However, higher prices for food, recreation and culture added
