IMF set for governance reform in wake of ‘Doing Business’ controversy
Board to make changes to data integrity, whistleblower protection and dispute resolution
The International Monetary Fund’s executive board has approved several governance reforms designed to repair trust in management in the wake of controversy around the World Bank’s Doing Business report.
A review published on June 30 concluded the fund “generally has robust mechanisms in place” to ensure high standards of governance and analysis. But it said more could be done to improve processes around data handling and trust in management.
