Stournaras says “character assassination” was a plot against him
Greece’s central bank governor has said he was the victim of a “character assassination” plot by unnamed people, as prosecutors dropped bribery charges against him.
Greek prosecutors announced on August 29 that they were dropping charges that governor Yannis Stournaras had accepted bribes while he was the country’s finance minister.
