Indonesian deputy nominated for governor’s role
Perry Warjiyo needs confirmation by lawmakers
One of the deputy governors at Bank Indonesia has been nominated by president Joko Widodo to stand as the next governor of the central bank, reports suggest.
Perry Warjiyo was the only candidate put forward by the president in a letter sent to the House of Representatives on February 23. The lawmaking body will have to confirm his nomination. If confirmed, Warjiyo would serve for a five-year term until 2023.
